About Animal Wardens

Thirty Seven Years

We have been providing services to Local Authorities, the Police and Government agencies since April 1984.

Animal Wardens assist in the enforcement of stray dog solutions, many of our employees are authorised officers of local councils as Dog Wardens. Our staff specialise in banned breeds, dangerous dogs, education on responsible dog ownership and behaviour assessment.

We are an organisation driven to increase companion dog ownership, promoting public safety and encouraging responsible breeding. No dogs welfare or future is compromised for the benefit of financial gain. Animal Wardens support the work of Animal Charities especially those it is partnered with.

We are an enforcement organisation and operate a reception(s) for the receipt of stray dogs, sorting banned breeds, those too dangerous to be in the public domain or too ill to be rehomed, placing the remainder into rescue centres for them to find forever homes.

Procurement

Many of our services fall below the threshold of formal tender procedures and can be procured through simpler processes.

However our largest contracts that were awarded pre 2021 were done through the European Journal. Since 2021 and the leaving of BREXIT the UK has introduced its own procurement regime.
